For many years, volunteers have joined the Day of Caring effort to successfully meet the needs of our community. United Way of Calvert County invites you to join local leaders, volunteers, and donors as they celebrate the 25th Annual Day of Caring while kicking off this year’s Workplace Giving Campaign. This year’s Day of Caring will be scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
Our 25th Annual Day of Caring is an excellent opportunity to educate the business community about the vital work United Way of Calvert County partner agencies accomplish every day in the community. Day of Caring is a unique service event that affords your organization to forge relationships with local businesses and their employee volunteers who form the backbone of our collaboration with the business sector. Business volunteers enjoy participating with the staff and clients in projects that are creative, innovative and inspiring.
We want to place emphasis on forming projects that help people in our community with the basics they need to lead a good life: Education, Income & Health.
We could not be more excited to welcome Exelon Generation as Day of Caring 2019’s presenting sponsor. Thank you to our friends at Calvert Cliffs for helping us continue to uplift our community. Learn more about all they do at exeloncorp.com/community.
United Way of Calvert County fights for the education, financial stability, and health of every person in our community. “Day of Caring” is an annual United Way special event developed to bring together volunteers from local businesses and organizations to work with United Way of Calvert County partner agencies to experience, first — hand, the needs of our community and how donations are working to meet those needs.
Over the past 25 years, the “Day of Caring” event has encouraged and supported our community to become revitalized, and through volunteerism has improved the quality of life for citizens in Calvert County.
The Calvert Board of County Commissioners proclaimed that September 11, 2019, be known as the United Way of Calvert County’s ” 25th Annual Day of Caring.” It was further proclaimed that all segments of the community, in partnership with United Way of Calvert County, are urged to celebrate their commitment, by increasing the capacity to care about one another and the community.
