August 6th is National Night Out in Calvert County. Sponsored locally by the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse, Inc. (CAASA) in partnership with the Maryland State Police, Barrack “U” and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office this is a great opportunity for residents to join together to promote the best of their neighborhoods and encourage partnerships with local law enforcement and local agencies. Currently, 24 communities will participate in the August 6th event. They include:

Calvert Pines Senior Center
Carroll Western Church
East John Youth Center
Huntingtown Citizen’s Association
Long Beach/Calvert Beach
Patuxent Palisades/Shores of Calvert
Prince Frederick Crossing
Prince Frederick Village, Prince Fred. Sr. Apts, Calvertowne Town Homes
Town of North Beach
It’s a great night of fun, food and friendship and we encourage residents to join in this county-wide event,” stated Debbi Mister, President, CAASA Board of Directors.
National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
