BGE Customers Reach Energy-Saving Milestones
Customers have saved more than 2 billion kilowatt-hours through BGE’s Smart Energy Savers Program(r) supporting EmPOWER Maryland
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) announced that, since the start of the BGE Smart Energy Savers Program(r), customers have reached several significant energy-saving milestones. In total, BGE customers have saved more than 2 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) since 2008-enough energy to power more than 208,000 homes for one year. They have also saved considerable money using less energy, with the BGE Smart Energy Savers Program(r) awarding nearly $291 million in rebates and incentives to customers for implementing energy efficiency measures.
The BGE Smart Energy Savers Program supports the EmPOWER Maryland Energy Efficiency Act’s goal of reducing the state’s per capita energy consumption by 15 percent by 2015.
