ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian Scheduled As Featured Speaker
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs have announced that the team will host a Hot Stove Banquet on March 14, 2015.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Legends Club, located at Regency Furniture Stadium, the banquet will feature a speaking segment from ESPN Analyst Tim Kurkjian. Additionally, newly hired Manager Stan Cliburn and Blue Crabs General Manager Patrick Day are also scheduled to speak to fans about the 2015 season.
Kurkjian, an analyst on ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight” and contributor for both ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine, began his career covering baseball in 1978 after graduating from the University of Maryland. In 1986, Kurkjian began covering the Baltimore Orioles for The Baltimore Sun until he joined Sports Illustrated in 1989. A Walter Johnson High School graduate from Bethesda, M.D., Kurkjian has spent over 25 years covering baseball and has previously stated that he believes that current Blue Crabs Owner Brooks Robinson was one of the greatest players ever.
