Team Could Give Away Up to 20 Houses During the 2015 Season
As the dust begins to settle on the unveiling of their first promotion for the upcoming season, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are excited to announce a new season-long promotion titled “Home, Sweet Homers.” While the much-debated hermit crab promotion (also known as “Hermitgate”) threatened the team’s sensibility in the eyes of its fans, the “Home Sweet, Homers” promotion is considered an even bigger gamble that could result in the team giving away prizes with the total value of over six millions dollars.
As a featured promotion for 20 home games throughout the upcoming season, the “Home, Sweet Homers” promotion could see the Blue Crabs give away up to 20 houses, each valued at $300,000, to randomly selected fans throughout the 2015 season.
The promotion will give fans a chance to enter drawings on Friday and Saturday home games during the upcoming season, including Opening Day on April 24. Contestants will be selected at random from the entries and will be eligible to win a house, if a Blue Crabs player hits a home run through a target located beyond the outfield wall at Regency Furniture Stadium. Entries are available for no additional charge to ticket-holding fans during Friday and Saturday home games.
Fans have the opportunity to gain an advantage over other entrants by purchasing a “House Party Ticket Plan” which includes ownership of the same great seat at every Friday and Saturday home game. Additionally, purchasers will receive an exclusive VIP gift, VIP-only concession lines as well as bonus entries into the house giveaway for the entire season. Ticket plans can be purchased by calling the Blue Crabs front office at 301-638-9788.
“This is unquestionably our biggest promotion EVER!” said Courtney Knichel, Assistant General Manager of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. “We are extremely excited that we get to add another element of suspense to our games with the possibility of giving away a house. While other teams are making their featured promotions things like hats and shirts, the Blue Crabs are ready to give away houses if a player can deliver a home run in the right spot.”
