Census Deadline Extended to Oct0ber 31
The 2020 Census deadline has been extended to Saturday, October 31.
Be an active citizen and participate in this once-in-a-decade count now. It only takes a few minutes to complete online or over the phone. It has never been easier to respond to the census on your own, whether online at www.2020census.gov, over the phone or by mail.
Calvert County Government Offices Closed for Columbus Day
The BOCC announces county offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, in observance of Columbus Day.

Prepare for the General Election
As the 2020 general election nears, the Calvert County Board of Elections announces available options for voters to cast their ballot. Registered voters will be able to vote by mail or in person during early voting or on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020.
- Mail-in ballot applications must be received by Oct. 20 in order to receive a mail-in ballot.
- Early, in-person voting will be held Oct. 26 through Nov. 2.
- To vote on Election Day, voters may cast their ballot at any of the five vote centers available in the county. Regular polling centers will not be available.

Sandbags Available to Help Residents Protect Property
Due to predicted heavy rainfall and possible flooding conditions resulting from Hurricane Delta, sand and sandbags are available for Calvert County residents who need them to protect property.
Sandbags are available today, Oct. 9:
- Stafford Road Salt Dome, 335 Stafford Road, Barstow until 7 p.m.
- Appeal Salt Dome, 401 Sweetwater Road, Lusby from 3:30-7 p.m.
- Mt. Hope Salt Dome, 92 Pushaw Station Road, Sunderland from 3:30-7 p.m.
Sandbags will be available at all three locations Saturday, Oct. 10, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
County staff will be available to assist. Citizens should bring a shovel to fill bags. Sandbags are limited to 20 per person. Visit online to learn more.
Courthouse has Implemented Phase V of Reopening
The Calvert County Courthouse located at 175 Main St. in Prince Frederick will remain under restricted access with new changes to operations and court proceedings effective immediately until further notice. There are five phases described in the Amended Administrative Order, each phase representing an increase in the level of operations by the courts in the Maryland Judiciary.
The courts are currently in Phase V which commenced on Oct. 5, 2020. Visit the CCG website for more information.
Free Community Flu Clinics Available
To reduce the impact of seasonal flu, the Calvert County Health Department will host a series of free children’s and community flu clinics throughout the county. Flu clinics will be held through October and November and are free for children and accompanying adults. Pre-registration is preferred but not required.

Virtual Public Meeting Scheduled for Prince Frederick Town Center Master Plan
The Calvert County Department of Planning & Zoning will hold a virtual public meeting as a continuation of the Prince Frederick Town Center Master Plan update process on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, from 7-8 p.m. The meeting will be streamed live on the Calvert County Government website at www.CalvertCountyMd.gov/Meetings and Calvert County Government Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CalvertCountyMd. The meeting will also be broadcast live on Comcast Channel 6 and 1070 HD.
Planning & Zoning staff will provide an overview of the update process, present results from the second Prince Frederick Town Center Master Plan Update Survey and discuss details of the transportation and land use focus areas.
