Calvert Conversations at Twin Beach Library

2017-02-28

The Belevedere Hotel burned down in 1923.

Calvert Conversations is an informal local history group that meets at Calvert Library Twin Beaches Branch on the second Thursday of the month, 10-11 am.

On March 9, the topic of discussion will be The Belvedere Hotel, which was built in the early 1900’s in Chesapeake Beach.  When it burned to the ground in 1923, did all its memories go with it?  We hope not!

Kris De Grace of the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum has been researching old newspaper files, piecing together some untold stories of The Belvedere.

Please join us at Calvert Library Twin Beaches Branch on March 9, to learn more about our local history and a posh hotel from yesteryear.

For more information, call Joan Kilmon at 410-257-2411.
