On Monday, June 11, 2018, the Optimist Club of Calvert awarded two scholarships at their monthly meeting held at the Calvert Taphouse in Prince Frederick.
The winner of the Calvert Optimist Scholarship was Angelique Almuete who attended Calvert High School. She received $6,000. The Knapp Scholarship was awarded to McKinley Cameron, who attended Northern High School. She received $8,000.
During the meeting, the club welcomed two new members, Patricia and Bob Matteson.
