The Employee Recognition Committee (ERC) was created on January 1, 1982, to publicly recognize County employees with awards such as Employee of the Month. The Employee of the Month award acknowledges individual excellence for superior job performance and/or special individual efforts that go above and beyond the employee’s normal job duties.
The categories for recognition are: quality of work, respect of fellow employees, effectiveness of public contact, contributions toward improving organizational morale, quantity of work, and/or actions that improve the public image of County Government.
The ERC is pleased to announce that David Banyasz, Parks & Recreation Park & Safety Division, was selected as the August 2019 Employee of the Month.
David is being recognized for filling in when the Marley Run Park Maintenance Specialist retired. David has worked part time for Parks & Recreation for over 20 years. He is also a full-time teacher with Calvert County Public Schools. For three months, David arrived early every day to open the park, clean the facilities, prep fields and mow the grass so the park was ready for that night’s games. He did all this and still made it to his full-time teaching job. Dave’s superior work ethic, drive, and dedication are evidence of how much he cares about our parks and the citizens that use them. David’s influence is far-reaching, touching the lives of Calvert County children and families through his teaching and his work at our parks.
On September 10, 2019, the Calvert Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) presented David Banyasz with a certificate and a check as the August 2019 Employee of the Month.
Congratulations, David Banyasz for a job well done!
