Women have played a pivotal role in breaking down barriers in education, employment, religious and social institutions, the military and many other areas that impact the everyday lives of families across this country. Register by March 1 to attend this year’s annual banquet honoring local Calvert women and girls.
The Calvert County Commission for Women and the League of Women Voters of Calvert County invite you to attend this year’s Women of the World (WOW) celebration. Our theme, “Building on the Past and Moving Forward,” reflects the groups’ focus on a forward-thinking approach that empowers women and girls to continue to make strides in areas in economics, health, education and legislation that will improve the lives of local women and girls and their families.
“Women have been at the forefront of every issue affecting the economic, health and well-being of people across the United States,” said Commission Chair Joan Winship. “We seek to inspire the next generation of female leaders to build on the achievements of their predecessors.” Sharron Bickel, co-chair of the League, noted “Calvert County is rich in bright, dedicated women who have made a difference in our County’s welfare. The WOW luncheon is a chance to recognize and celebrate their accomplishments.”
