Chesapeake Beach Town Council Vacancy on Expired Term

The Town of Chesapeake Beach announces that there is (1) one vacancy on the Chesapeake Beach Town Council. Per the Town Charter section C-614 “Vacancies”, the Town Council shall elect a qualified Town resident to carry out the unexpired term of office for Councilman Derek Favret, who recently submitted his resignation due to relocation.

If you are a Town resident and are interested in serving as a member of the Town Council, please submit the following to the Town Clerk no later than October 29th.

  1. Registration Verification for Town of Chesapeake Beach: Please provide full name (first, middle, last), residential address (physical address where you currently reside, PO Box not accepted), date of birth.
  2. Statement of Interest: Provide all contact information and resume. Please include any relevant information.
  3. Public Disclosure Form Requirement: Complete and submit a public disclosure form, accessible here. If you complete the form via the online link it will be submitted directly to the Town Clerk at completion. If you would prefer to download the form, print it and provide it to the Town Clerk, the downloadable version is linked here.

Process for Town Council election:

The Mayor and Town Council will interview Town residents, who have been verified as registered Town voters by the board of elections, and have submitted all required information, during a Town Council Work session. It is expected that interviews will take place on November 8, 2021 at 6:00 PM with a final decision of the Mayor and Town Council during the November 18, 2021 Town meeting. Meeting dates are tentative and could be adjusted.
