Head Coach for Calvert High School Girls’ Soccer Team, Dawn Lister, began her role in the fall of 2009. She has also served as an assistant girls lacrosse coach from 2006-2008 and again from 2013 to the present. She led the Cavaliers to a 15-1-1 SMAC/Playoff record this year and was named All-Met Coach of the Year by the Washington Post and All County Coach of the Year by the Calvert recorder. Lister has led the Cavaliers to a 63-21-4 record over the past six seasons.
Coach Lister guided the Cavaliers to a combined four appearances in the 2A South Regional finals, two appearances in the 2A State semifinals, and one appearance in the State final over the last six years. This season Coach Lister mentored four athletes to All-Met Honors, two athletes to All-State Honors, seven players to All-SMAC Honors, and seven players to All-County Honors.
Dawn currently lives in St. Leonard and graduated from Northern High School in 1989. She graduated from Salisbury University in December 1992 and earned her Master’s Degree from University of Maryland College Park in 1998. She is presently working on her Doctorate at Liberty University.
Coach Lister is employed with the Calvert County Schools as a Criminal Justice Lead teacher, World Gym as a spin instructor, and at the University of Maryland University College as a Criminal Justice and a Criminology Adjunct Professor.
The Calvert Board of County Commissioners proclaimed the appreciation of all citizens to this remarkable woman, who strives to improve the quality of life for all, and conveyed best wishes to her in all her future endeavors.
