Meet Computer Services Technician II Patrick St. Marie, Jr. from the Department of Technology Services.
Patrick has worked for Calvert County Government for the past 10 years. Patrick works at the Helpdesk where he helps other Calvert County Government employees with their technology-related problems. He responds to queries, works to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, determines and implements solutions whenever possible and directs the flow of incidents into the department for servicing.
Patrick additionally provides on-site technical support and end-user training to walk employees through resolving problems personally.
“The Helpdesk works as the front line and face in many regards. From public safety to the parks to the computer on an employee’s desk, we’re involved and here to keep things running as smooth as possible,” said Patrick.
Patrick is mostly self-taught and wanted to get into his field due to his love for technology. He is fascinated by how far technology has come. He greatly enjoys the challenge of solving problems that come to him at the Helpdesk when there are no clear-cut answers.
Patrick has lived in Calvert County for most of his life. He enjoys playing video games, finding intriguing gadgets and tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons.
