“Help us curb the misuse of pain medications by disposing of their unused and expired medications,” shares Kristen DePhillip, CAASA Board President. CAASA and other local agencies are working to educate county residents to the importance of monitoring, securing and disposing of unused and expired medications, especially the more potent opioid pain medications.
If residents aren’t able to participate in the Take Back day, the county has two 24/7 drop boxes located at the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, 30 Church Street, Prince Frederick and the Maryland State Police, Barrack “U”, 210 Main Street, Prince Frederick, Maryland. In addition, proper drug disposal methods in your household trash can be found at http://www.fda.gov/drugs/resourcesforyou
By working with its community partners, CAASA is helping to reduce the misuse and abuse of prescription drugs. For more information, contact the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse, Inc. at 410-535-FREE (3733).
