Congratulations to the Huntingtown Elementary Destination Imagination team!
The Phobia Fighters, under the direction of teacher Debbie Clime, won first place at the state Destination Imagination Tournament at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The students selected the “Feary Tale” artistic challenge of creating a fairy tale about a character who faces and deals with a phobia. The students had to create expressive artwork that conveys a thought or feeling and artwork that serves a practical function. In addition, the students had to design and create an illusion that makes the impossible seem possible.
As a finalist, the team will compete against 15 countries and 45 states in a Global Competition in Tennessee this May.
