DNR Hosts Military and Veteran Personnel for Fishing

2017-04-07

Over Two Dozen Participate in Fishing Event

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources partnered with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing March 30 to host a fishing event at Lost Lake in Patapsco Valley State Park.

More than 24 active duty military, veterans and families from Fort Meade participated in fly fishing, children’s games and a cookout. Assistance was provided by the Maryland Park Service and Fishing and Boating Services.

As part of its Wounded Warrior and Veteran Outreach Program, the department is seeking to expand opportunities and programs across the state to support the emotional and physical rehabilitation of disabled military personnel and veterans.
