Located in Solomons, the E Z THAI Too is the second location for the restaurant owner Pat Benjasakul, who owns E Z Thai in Prince Frederick. There is no curb appeal but once you enter the door, the ambiance is wonderful. The dining room is set with linens and silverware on glass top tables.
It was lunchtime and there were a few tables. Our waitress appeared and we ordered our beverages. Checking out the menu, we decided to order the Shrimp Bikini as our appetizer. There were 4 deep fried shrimp wrapped in rice paper and served with sweet and sour sauce. Before the appetizer came, a complimentary cup of soup and a small salad were served. This is Monday thru Friday for dine in only at lunch. The soup was broth with very small veggies cut up in it and tofu chunks. Although not a fan of tofu, the broth had a very nice taste and the salad was crisp. Soon our Bikini Shrimp arrived. They were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside and although they were fried there was no dripping grease as is usually found with foods like egg rolls. It was a pleasant surprise.
For our entrees we chose Pad Thai. It was stir-fried thin rice noodles with a choice of chicken, beef or pork, egg, ground peanuts, bean sprouts and green onions. It was a huge portion with a wonderful taste. We also chose Drunken Noodle that was stir-fried wide rice noodles with choice of chicken, pork or beef, tomatoes, bell peppers, fresh basil leaves, onions and chili. We chose chicken as the meat. The wide noodles were very tender as well as the chicken with a medium spicy taste. This dish we would highly recommend.
They offer Chinese dishes as well as Thai. For some dishes they offer a choice of meats. They will also make any of their dishes vegetarian. And of course they offer desserts such as Sticky Rice with Mango, Sticky Rice with Thai Custard, Fried Banana, Fried banana with Ice Cream, and Ice Cream.
The food is delicious, reasonable, and large portions. Once you step inside, you are warmly greeted and the atmosphere is pleasant. There is an extensive menu and service is very friendly. The menu features appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, curry, noodles, fried rice, and desserts. They offer lunch specials and vegetarian dishes.
