The End Hunger Culinary Training Program is End Hunger In Calvert County’s work force development initiative. Created with the vision of bringing quality and sustainable employment opportunities to the underemployed or unemployed residents of Calvert County, the Culinary Training Program offers the practical training needed for successful re-entry into the workforce.
The End Hunger Culinary Training Program is a free 8-week jobs training course available to unemployed or underemployed Calvert County residents who are interested in a career in the food service industry. The food service industry is projected to grow at least 7% every year through 2018 (The Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Graduates of the Culinary Training Program receive National Restaurant Certification as well as free career placement assistance and their very own set of knives.
Cost
Classes and materials are free to qualified applicants.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
Resident in Southern Maryland
Unemployed or underemployed
Completed and submitted an End Hunger Culinary application
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Attend a mandatory End Hunger Culinary information session
