The Employee Recognition Committee (ERC) was created on January 1, 1982. The ERC’s mission is:
- To recognize employees for years of service. To create and maintain a positive work environment.
- To create and maintain a culture of recognition. To motivate high performance.
The Employee of the Month award is one way we achieve this mission. The Employee of the Month award acknowledges individual excellence for superior job performance and/or special individual efforts that go above and beyond the employee’s normal job duties. The categories for recognition are quality of work, respect of fellow employees, effectiveness of public contact, contributions toward improving organizational morale, quantity of work, and/or actions that improve the public image of County Government.
The ERC is pleased to announce that Elizabeth (Libby) Mills, Planner II, Planning & Zoning, was selected as the October 2020 Employee of the Month. This special award was presented on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 10 a.m.
Recently when a coworker was on extended leave, Libby handled the workload of two and took on extra job duties including updating permit reviews and assisting with customer inquiries. Libby always goes the extra mile when helping customers. She consistently follows through when tackling customer issues and helping move citizen projects forward. Her supervisors frequently receive emails from satisfied customers expressing their appreciation for Libby’s perseverance. Libby’s upbeat attitude sets a positive tone for all.
