National Government Finance Officers Association has a panel, who evaluates a government’s annual financial report against an ever changing reporting and disclosure requirements. Calvert County Government’s Finance and Budget Office received the award for 2014. This is the eleventh consecutive year for Calvert to receive this award.
According to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental and financial accounting and it represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) was judge by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program. The county’s bond rating agencies hold this award in high regard.
During the Calvert County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) meeting, September 29th, the BOCC presented the award to the Finance and Budget Office.
