This year Calvert County Behavioral Health staff (CCBH) collaborated with Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) to spearhead a poster contest for middle and high school students. This first annual Suicide Prevention Poster Contest gave participating students an opportunity to convey through words, symbols, and art, the importance of suicide prevention.
There were 118 unique submissions to the poster contest. Today we are recognizing the 31 contest winners for their commitment to bringing awareness of suicide prevention to their peers and the Calvert community.
Through their creativity, knowledge of resources, and personal concept of suicide prevention, they have shown leadership in the effort to break stigma around mental illness and suicide.
