David Silverman “Balancing the Scales: Susquehannocks, Maryland, and the Firearms Trade of the Seventeenth Century” 7:00pm, Thursday, May 28.
David J. Silverman, Ph.D. will be exploring the trade of firearms with Maryland and surrounding colonies with the Susquehannock Indians during his free evening lecture. Silverman, a Professor of History at the George Washington University will discuss how this effort to level the military playing field – first in a string of regional arms races – came to define Native America’s colonial experience.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
