Saturday night at the Elks Lodge in Prince Frederick, friends and family of Lt. Dave Payne, gathered for good food, laughs and fun! It was a fundraiser for United Way and in particular, for Dave Payne, who is running for Mardi Gras King. The packed house got to hear DJ Keith Hicks and some great music, while bidding on items in the teacup auction. Many were taking advantage of the photo booth and checking out sports memorabilia. There was also a 50/50 raffle, which was won by Susan Shaw and she donated it back to United Way!
The bountiful buffet was provided by the Grill Sergeant of Solomons. Steamed shrimp, pit beef, and all the sides made a great impression on the guests and the compliments to the chef were heard all night. And to top it off there was the cake.
Special thanks to all who made this night possible, especially Fantasy World with the photo booth, the jerseys from Above Average Graphing (Monk Wells), the wine from Steve Weems’ Wemyss Liquors, and beer from Bob Hall. And thank you to all who donated prizes for the auction. Due to everyone’s generosity Dave was able to raise some great funds for United Way for his run for Mardi Gras King.
