Presents Citation to Deputy First Class Blaine Gaskill for Heroic Actions
Governor Larry Hogan today attended the Maryland State School Safety Summit hosted by the Maryland Center for School Safety, the Maryland State Department of Education, and the Maryland State Police. At the summit, he presented an official governor’s citation to Deputy First Class Blaine Gaskill of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office who responded to the tragic March 20 shooting at Great Mills High School in his capacity as the school resource officer.
The governor commended DFC Gaskill for his brave actions that prevented further harm to the Great Mills community.
DFC Gaskill was also awarded the National Association of School Resource Officers National Award for Valor at the summit.
