Community Foundation of Southern Maryland Awards Grant to Greenwell Foundation for their new Mindful Meadow
Sharon Southerland-Smith, Executive Director and Wilberto Flores, Board Member of the CFSOMD presented Jolanda Campbell, Executive Director of Greenwell Foundation with a check for $5,000 to support activities in Greenwell’s new Mindful Meadow.
“Greenwell offers so many wonderful programs to people with and without disabilities, it is our pleasure to support this exciting new initiative that brings people and animals together for the benefit of both!” explained Smith.
Jolanda Campbell described the Mindful Meadow as, “a new paddock which is home to a our goats, sheep, miniature horses and ponies with ducks, chickens and a small pig coming soon! The animals are part of many Greenwell programs, field trips and additional opportunities Greenwell is adding this year including therapeutic encounters, birthday parties, summer camp activities, team building field trips, scout badge outings and more. This grant from the Community Foundation of Southern Maryland’s Opportunity Fund will help to take care of our animals and help bring children and families to the Meadow who would not otherwise be able to visit. We are so grateful for their support!”
Over 250 people attended the grand opening and ribbon-cutting for the Mindful Meadow on Saturday, April 6th. For more information about the Mindful Meadow and all of Greenwell’s programs visit www.greenwellfoundation.org
