The Huntingtown High School (HHS) Boys’ Track & Field Team, the Hurricanes, won the SMAC Championship Meet, the 3A South Region Championship Meet, and became the 2019 Maryland Class 3A State Champions after defeating Watkins Mill High School of Montgomery County, with a final score of 58-55 — completing a perfect 13-0 season.
The Huntingtown High boys track and field team brought another state championship home to Calvert County. Coached by head coach Valerie Harrington and assistant coaches Jim Hall, Mike Henshaw, Deb Morgan, and Dave Spain, the team also won the SMAC championship and the Chesapeake Division championship.
The Huntingtown boys 1600 meter relay team of Evan Fee, Ian Fokum, Joseph Murray and Ryan Holloway won the state championship in their event, as did Conor McGirr in the individual 1600.
The Huntingtown Boys Track and Field Team members are Logan Barger, Jackson Blackburn, David Bolin, Jackson Carver, Darrien Coates, Wesley Coston, Evan Couvillion, Cameron Dalrymple, Harrison Faidley, Nicholas Farber, Evan Fee, Ian Fokum, Justin Foreman, Thomas Foulkes, Giuliano Guttadauro, Ian Hays, Steven Hemphill, Christopher Hill, Sam Hill, Remar Holloway, Ryan Holloway, Travis Hook, Trevor Hook, Connor Howlin, Hayden Jones, Kenny King, Carson Kyle, Matthew LeRoux, Connor McGirr, Cody Mister, Ryan Mozzetta, Joseph Murray, Dylan Pearman, Daniel Russell, Anthony Smith, Dominic Soto, Adam Szatanek, Jackson Taylor, Aiden Walker, Trenton Wilks, Devon Williams, Joseph Zawislak and Patrick Zawislak.
The Calvert Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) wishes to pay tribute to the dedication, many long hours of practice, and the fine performance and accomplishments of the Huntingtown High School Boys’ Track and Field Team.
On June 25, 2019, the Calvert Board of County Commissioners proclaimed congratulations and best wishes for continued success to all the young men of the Huntingtown High School Boys’ Field and Track Team, on winning the 2019 Class 3A State Championship. The commissioners further proclaimed appreciation and thanks to all of their coaches for the encouragement and guidance to the team.
