House Fire in Huntingtown Suffers Major Damage

A house fire on September 24, 2019 at 5:24 am, 2765 Queensberry Road, Huntingtown, was discovered by the occupant. The Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department responded. There was a smoke alarm present. Two firefighters were transported to Calvert Health Medical Center for minor injuries and were both treated and released. The two-story single family home suffered major damage in the fire, with the origin believed to be the rear deck.

The fire caused significant damage to the second floor and roof structure along with smoke and water damage to the remainder of the home and its contents.  The estimated loss to the structure is $200,000 and the contents $100,000. All of the occupants were able to escape without injury and are being assisted by The American Red Cross. The fire remains under investigation at this time but is not suspicious in nature.
