On December 5, 2018 at 1:15 am, a fire at 9103 Easy Street in Owings, was discovered by the homeowner. The North Beach Volunteer Fire Department responded. The two story single family home, with attached garage, suffered an estimated loss to the structure of $220,000 and $60,000 to the contents. The owner suffered smoke inhalation and it is not known if the smoke-alarm activated.
The homeowner awoke to the odor of smoke and “popping” noises. She became overwhelmed by the smoke but was able to evacuate the house with minor non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma and released. The homeowner is being assisted by family.
