On January 26, 2016, the Calvert Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) presented Hayley Jackson a proclamation for winning the 2015 2A State Championship in Cross Country. Hayley is a student at Patuxent High School.
Hayley, under the leadership of Head Coaches Casie Reynolds and Dave Walser, won the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) 2A State Championship in Girls Cross Country. She captured the title in 18:23.5 seconds, which was 44 seconds ahead of Howard County’s Brit Lang, from Oakland Mills High School.
She won her second straight State Championship in Girls Cross Country, and was named Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) Athlete of the year, setting a Maryland State Championship and SMAC Championship Meet course record time. Hayley was also the MPSSAA 2A Regional Champion for the second consecutive year and was selected 2nd Team All-Met in the Washington Post for the Fall of 2015.
The Calvert Board of county Commissioners wished Hayley continued success, along with congratulations and best wishes.
