Sheriff Mike Evans and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) would like to recognize and commend CCSO DFC Idol and K-9 partner Stryker for their hard work and service to our agency.
This past weekend, DFC Idol and partner Stryker were involved in two different traffic stops resulting in multiple apprehensions.
On May 15, 2020 DFC Idol initiated a vehicle pursuit on 5th Street in North Beach, MD, where the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, and attempted to intentionally strike marked patrol vehicles. The occupants bailed out of the vehicle, and DFC Idol was able to apprehend the driver. DFC Idol gave K-9 warnings as the suspect was running away, K-9 Stryker was released and was able to contain the suspect. DFC Idol did an exceptional job throughout the incident, which in turn, led to all three suspects being apprehended.
On May 16, 2020 DFC Idol responded to Route 4 @ Main Street, Prince Frederick, MD to assist another deputy with a suspect that had fled on foot from a vehicle during an attempted traffic stop. DFC Idol and K-9 Stryker initiated a K-9 track where the suspect was believed to have ran. During the track, the team located a cellular phone and a hotel room keycard, belonging to the suspect. The track led other officers to the direction of the suspect who was later apprehended.
Great work DFC Idol and Stryker! Thank you for your service.
