‘Let There Be Light’ on Naval Academy Bridge

2018-05-10

Installation of new fixtures on Historic Naval Academy Bridge Complete

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) completed installation of new light fixtures on the MD 450 Bridge over the Severn River (The Naval Academy Bridge). Crews expedited to work to complete by US Naval Academy commencement activities.

“We are appreciative of the citizens, motorists and the Naval Academy community for their patience as MDOT SHA investigated and ultimately found a solution to the bridge lighting issues,” said MDOT SHA District Engineer Corren Johnson. “Drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists will have a well-lit ride over the Severn River.”
