Letter from Keep Calvert Country on Moving Offices

2019-01-17

Thank you to the new Board of County Commissioners for taking the time to consider all options. The Prince Frederick Master Plan & Zoning Ordinance states that the Old Town District (courthouse area) “is intended to remain the center of County government”. So if they move County offices outside that District, they’ll need to revise the PFMP before doing so (State law requires consistency with Master Plans in all decisions). When this was first proposed, Keep Calvert Country created a video proposing several other options. If you haven’t seen it (as apparently Commissioner Mike Hart has not), you can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlEbYOHR4Zg.

We’re not sure if citizens are going to have an opportunity to express their opinions about this proposal, so please email the Commissioners if you have concerns: commiss@calvertcountymd.gov
