On Saturday, December 9th the Prince Frederick Volunteer Rescue Squad (PFVRS) sponsored an event “Breakfast with Santa”! Over 50 volunteer members and their families served an old fashion home cooked breakfast to the public. They served breakfast to at least 299 adults and at least 239 children consisting of bacon, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, waffles, pancakes, hash browns, juices, milk, and coffee. Their brand-new facility was offered for the children to meet Santa Claus.
On Saturday, April 6th they will sponsor “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” from 8am-11am or until supplies last! Follow them on Facebook, at www.facebook.com/PFVRS to see their upcoming events.
The PFVRS is all volunteer! They run about 2000 calls a year and they are always in search of new volunteers to assist them at any time 365 days a year. This is a great opportunity for fellowship to join their family. Many of their active members have over 20 years with the station. Some families have their third generation there. If you don’t want to run on the ambulance, there are plenty of other things that they need help with, such as administrative work, committees, various things in/around the building and various things in/around the vehicles. They are looking for drivers for the ambulance and people to help the patients. They will train you on what you do not know, show you how to obtain and maintain national recognized standards and certifications. Think about having a once in a lifetime experience of helping others.
Anyone that may be interested can stop by and visit or check out their website or Facebook page. Feel free to download a membership application, fill it out, and email it or drop it off. Once you have dropped it off, our monthly membership meetings are the first Thursday of every month at 7pm.
We look forward to seeing new faces this New Year!
