At Sotterley we love our volunteers because they truly make all that we do possible! There are so many ways that you can help, both occasionally and year round! Like always, we are looking for new members to join the Sotterley team!
Volunteers are needed for our Fall events!
Riverside WineFest: October 1st and 2nd .Volunteers are needed in multiple shifts on both days. When you volunteer at the WineFest you will also receive free admission. Late afternoon shifts especially needed!
Ghost of Sotterley: October 21st , 22nd , 27th , 28th , and 29th .Volunteers are needed to help guide tours, and this allows you to experience the tours for yourself!
Also join our team of yearly volunteers:
- Museum Shop and Visitor Center: As a Museum Shop and Visitor Center volunteer, yours is the first face visitors will see when they come to visit Sotterley Plantation. While making our guests feel welcome, you will also have the opportunity to sell our unique wares and tour admissions.
- Docent: As a docent, you will lead guided tours from room to room in the historic Plantation House and tell the rich story of our 300+ year old history to guests.
- Garden Guild: Garden Guild volunteers help maintain the magnificent Colonial Revival Garden, to the delight of visitors throughout the year and especially during our blooming months. No experience needed, and the Guild meets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
