INTERCHANGE RAMPS IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY
Motorists Should Expect Nighttime Ramp Closures and Detours
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin overnight work this week on a project to resurface six interchange ramps at the US 50 (John Hanson Highway)/MD 424 (Davidsonville Road) in Davidsonville, Anne Arundel County.
Starting at 8 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, August 17, crews will resurface the following ramps in sequential order:
- eastbound US 50 to northbound and southbound MD 424,
- westbound US 50 to northbound and southbound MD 424,
- northbound MD 424 to eastbound US 50,
- southbound MD 424 to eastbound US 50,
- northbound MD 424 to westbound US 50, and
- southbound MD 424 to westbound US 50.
A detour will be set up to direct drivers to US 301 (Crain Highway) and MD 450 (Parole/Annapolis). Portable variable message signs and temporary traffic signage will be in place to guide motorists through the detour. All work will take place overnight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. and is scheduled to be complete next week, weather permitting. MDOT SHA contractor F.O. Day Company, of Rockville, will perform the work.
