MDTA Police Make Arrest for Drugs, Stolen Gun

2019-12-30

On Saturday evening, MDTA Police arrested a Baltimore man during a traffic stop on Aviation Boulevard in Anne Arundel County. The MDTA Police charged the 29-year-old man with possession of a stolen firearm, prohibited person in possession of a handgun, CDS possession with intent to distribute and other drug, weapon and traffic charges.

An MDTA Police Officer assigned to the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport Detachment stopped a 2002 Honda Accord on Aviation Boulevard at Mathison Way for failing to display a rear registration plate and an equipment violation. During a subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded handgun and amounts of suspected Fentanyl, Cocaine, Marijuana and other drugs. The investigation revealed that the handgun was reported stolen out of Richmond County, GA.  The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
