Captain Tim Fridman of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) was born and raised in Baltimore City, Maryland. After high school, Tim Fridman attended Towson State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education. He married a lifelong resident of Calvert County, whom he met in college. Tim then moved to Huntingtown.
He began his teaching career as an elementary school teacher with the Calvert County Public Schools in 1994, first teaching at Appeal Elementary and then St. Leonard Elementary. In 1999, Tim Fridman left teaching and joined the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
He began his career as a Patrol Deputy and in late 2002 was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Bureau as a detective, where he remained assigned throughout his career. During his 17 year assignment, he has investigated every type of case.
While in the Criminal Investigations Bureau, Tim Fridman was directly responsible for the daily operations of the Criminal Investigation Bureau as well as the daily operations of the School Liaison Officers and Crime Scene Technicians. He maintained the Calvert County Sex Offender Registry and served as its “Custodian of Records” as well.
Tim Fridman serves on many committees within the county and for his office: Calvert County Drug Court (2016-present), GOCCP Local Government Justice Reinvestment Act Commission member (August 2016-present), Domestic Fatality Review Team (Chair), Sexual Assault Response Team (member), Domestic Violence Response Team (Co-Chair), Calvert County Family Network (Previous Chair 2012-2015 member 2015-present), National Tactical Officers Association, Family Violence Council, Adult Interdisciplinary Council, Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence, School Safety Advocacy Council, Child Advocacy Council, National Association of School Resource Officers, American Polygraph Association, Maryland Polygraph Association, American Association of Police Polygraphists, Interfaith Domestic Violence Coalition, Child Fatality Review Team, Infant Fatality Review Team, and Calvert County Crime Solvers.
Tim is also, since the Fall of 2013, Adjunct Professor at the College Of Southern Maryland:

and serves as Calvert County’s representative on the Governor’s Office Justice Reinvestment Commission. He is a polygraph examiner as well as the Commander of the Hostage Negotiation Team.
Tim Fridman is very busy with his 3 children. His oldest daughter is in college while his middle son is in high school and his youngest son being in middle school. Tim Fridman enjoys coaching both son’s travel baseball teams as well as coaching Plum Point Middle School’s baseball team.
On December 24, 2018, Tim was promoted to the rank of Captain and is now assigned as the Commander of the Calvert County Administrative and Judicial Services Bureau. The Administrative and Judicial Services Bureau is comprised of the following functions/units: Civil Process, Court Security, Southern Maryland Criminal Justice Academy and Landlord and Tenant Information.
