Bayside History Museum and Calvert Library will host “Mulatto, the Black History of Calvert County” from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at North Beach Town Hall, 5916 Chesapeake Ave. in North Beach.
Speaker Michael Kent, president of the Calvert County NAACP, will present a free lecture based on his manuscript, “Mulatto, the Black History of Calvert County,” which spans his family’s presence in Calvert from 1780 through the civil rights movement of the 1960s. This talk will encompass a portion of the slave era and the formation of churches and schools after slavery.
