Newest Correctional Officer Introduced to BOCC

2018-01-11

On January 9, 2018, Lt Col McDowell introduced the newest Correctional Officer to the Calvert Board of County Commissioners. C/O Vincente Torboli graduated from the Southern Maryland Criminal Justice Academy on December 12, 2017. He was the class speaker for Session 58.

Vincente was born in Calvert County and grew up in Prince Frederick, the son of Tony Torboli and Rose Fowler. He has a brother, Airman First Class Nicholas Torboli. He graduated Huntingtown High School. He enjoys writing music and playing his guitar in his spare time.

When Vincente was introduced, the Assistant Sheriff McDowell hinted at the fact that Vincente was related to someone in county government. And it came to light that he is a second cousin of Mark Willis, Director of Planning and Zoning. Hearing that, Commissioner Steve Weems remarked that would mean another relative would be Bill Jones of the Solomons Volunteer Fire Department and that might mean that he (Steve Weems) might be related also.

Congratulations, Vincente, on your new career!
