On Thursday April 30th, the NJROTC held their change of command at Huntingtown High School. Wyatt McDowell was chosen to lead the 107 member unit for the next year.
Commanding Officer of the NJROTC unit for Huntingtown High School, Chief Peck, related that he and another get together to decide who will be the Commanding Officer for Huntingtown High School. Wyatt was chosen due to his work ethics and service to his community and unit. Wyatt was the Command Senior Chief and was a mentor to the junior members in the unit. His rank will be Lieutenant Commander.
As a special treat, the Naval Ceremonial Guard from Washington DC performed the Posting of the Colors and then did a fantastic precision drill performance for those in attendance.
Commissioner Pat Nutter remarked, “It was great to see so many future state, local and national leaders within the ranks of these young folks. One of the Naval Ceremonial Guard team members was a recent graduate from Huntingtown High School.”
Asking Wyatt for a quote he said “All in All the Time is my favorite saying. This was told to me by a Navy Seal.”
