Caregiving is a tough job. This November, we remember the people who lovingly give baths, clean houses, shop for, and comfort the millions of elderly and ill people who are friends and loved ones. November is National Family Caregivers Month and this year’s theme is “Caregiving Around the Clock.”
National Family Caregivers Month is an annual, national observance in November, developed by the Caregiver Action Network to recognize the 90+ million family caregivers in this country.
Recognizing family caregivers as devoted individuals offering endless hours of care and support to loved ones in their homes and communities, with the sole purpose of sustaining quality of life. This year’s theme “Caregiving Around the Clock” recognizing the challenges that family caregivers face and how they manage them day and night.
Calvert County Office on Aging continues to offer assistance and support through limited caregiver grants for respite, monthly drop-in support, medical equipment, assistive technology devices, and links to community programs.
The Calvert Board of County Commissioners proclaimed that the month of November be known as National Family Caregivers Month in Calvert County, recognizing caregivers for the devotion, dedication, and support they provide to their family members and loved ones. It was further proclaimed that the appreciation of all Calvert Countians is hereby extended to all family caregivers for their efforts.
