Office On Aging Kathryn Shannon Retires After 14 Years

2022-03-20

The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners recognized Program Assistant Kathryn Shannon for dedicating 14 years of faithful service to county government and wished her well in her retirement.

Kathryn began her admirable career in August 1975 as district supervisor for the Department of Parks & Recreation. She took another career path after five years and left in August 1980 but returned to Calvert County Government as the Office on Aging program assistant in September 2007.

Kathryn has provided reliable and exemplary service during her career, and gained tremendous respect, trust and admiration from those who had the pleasure to work with her. Kathryn’s work at the North Beach Senior Center leading the Scribblers Creative Writing program, numerous fitness programs and day trips for seniors to many locations in Calvert County and beyond, have greatly enhanced the lives of older adults in Calvert County. Her commendable and distinguished service has been demonstrated with a spirit of pride and commitment throughout her exemplary career with the Office on Aging.

Thank you and congratulations on retirement, Kathryn.
