On June 26, 2018, you, the voters of Calvert County, have the chance to change the direction of law enforcement in our county. When this campaign for Sheriff started, I presented the four pillars that would be the foundation of change. That foundation has not changed and those pillars continue to be my focus externally. So, what is my focus going to be internally for the Sheriff’s Office? Several months ago, I went before the Calvert County Sheriff’s FOP and promised the following to the men and women of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
Now I present these internal promises to you, the voter, in the spirit of honest, open communication so you can be the judge of my commitment to you and to the Sheriff’s Office.
– I will make no decision that is not in the best interests of you and this agency and those decisions and actions will always be legal, ethical and moral.
– I will not engage in any activity that calls into question my judgment or reflects poorly on our agency.
– I will ensure your safety, a positive work environment and an atmosphere of trust and communication.
– I know we, as deputies, are struggling to make a living on our salary, worried about marginal benefits; I will advocate for salaries and benefits that will be competitive with our neighbors and bring a little piece of mind to you and your families.
Being the sheriff of Calvert County is not about Craig Kontra; it’s what Craig Kontra will bring to you, our community and this agency.
Thank you for your vote on June 26, 2018
Craig Kontra for Sheriff
