Diane Holloway, Recreation Coordinator for the Recreation Division, retired July 17, 2020, having dedicated 37 years of faithful and loyal service to the citizens of Calvert County and the State of Maryland.
Diane’s admirable career began with Calvert County Government on April 15, 1983, as Center Director with Parks & Recreation, and she was promoted to Recreation Coordinator on August 12, 1986. Throughout her tenure with Calvert County Government, she gained tremendous respect, trust, and admiration from Calvert County citizens and fellow constituents who had the pleasure to work with her.
Her service to the community has been demonstrated with a spirit of pride and commitment throughout her exemplary career with the Department of Parks & Recreation. Diane was committed to the annual Valentine’s Day Father/Daughter Dance for 29 years. This event brings together over 125 fathers and daughters. In that same spirit, Diane was passionate about community fitness and a passionate animal lover, which was demonstrated by her rescue of many dogs over the years.
The Calvert Board of County Commissioners presented a proclamation on July 14. 2020, as a tribute to Diane’s outstanding accomplishments during her distinguished career; thereby, recognizing this amazing woman who strives to improve the quality of life for all Calvert County citizens. As a result of her hard work and determination, Diane was one of the first few Parks & Recreation employees to be awarded as a Certified Recreation and Parks Professional and has maintained it over her career.
It was further proclaimed by the Calvert Board of County Commissioners that the appreciation of all Calvert County citizens to be hereby extended to Mrs. Diane Holloway on her Retirement after 37 years of reliable and commendable public service. The Calvert Board of County Commissioners joins with the community and Diane’s co-workers, family, and friends in conveying best wishes for a long, healthy, and happy retirement with continued success in all her future endeavors.
