On March 18, 2014, Patuxent High School (PHS) NJROTC held Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the American Legion Arick L Lore Post 274 in Lusby.
The NJROTC Cadets and their leaders came early to set up the hall and start the cooking with help from the Sons of the Legion Squadron 274. There were 17 cadets and 7 adult leaders, along with Sons of the Legion members Steve Bender –Commander, Ken Hartmann -2nd Vice Commander, Daniel Bardoff, Tony O’Donnell, Dan Dull and Danny Huseman.
From 9 am to 12 pm, they made omelets, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, sausage gravy and all the fixings, along with coffee and juices. By noon they had fed 88 adults and 30 kids.
The cadets had games and crafts for the youngsters and the Easter Bunnies (yes, a male and a female bunny) posed for pictures with the children. There were bake sale goodies and a 50-50 raffle.
At 12 noon the winning 50/50 was pulled and the winner was Ann Hough who donated it all back to the NJROTC!
