NJROTC Host s Breakfast with SAL and Santa
On December 16, 2018, the Patuxent High School NJROTC Booster Club, in partnership with the Sons of the Legion (SAL) held their 11th annual breakfast with Santa at the American Legion Post 274 in Lusby. Breakfast included made to order omelets, expertly made by SAL members Tony O’Donnell and Dan Dull. Working in the kitchen were SAL members Steve Bender, Danny Huseman, Ken Hartman, Bud Casper and Donny Doucette, frying, mixing, baking while NJROTC members were busy working the window and serving up requests and of course dish washing detail.
For the youngsters, photos could be taken with Santa (aka Billy Greene), crafts, games, prizes, and even letters to Santa. For the adults, a 50/50 raffle and baked goods for sale! And last was the awarding of the table centerpieces from the 50/50 tickets.
It was a great fundraiser for the NJROTC, raising over $1200. Thirty-six cadets participated, serving 95 adult and 58 children’s breakfast. The omelet station did over 110 omelets.
