The Employee Recognition Committee (ERC) recommended Kirsti Uunila for Employee of the Month to the Calvert Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). Kirsti is a Planner III with the Department of Planning and Zoning.
Kirsti was recognized for her instrumental role in organizing the Maryland Department of Planning, Maryland Historical Trust’s 2017 Field Session. She was recognized at the State level for her interest in the Calverton site, the unique relationship she has built over the years with the property owners, for her partnership with the Maryland Historical Trust, and for serving as the Principle Investigator in the 2017 Field Session. This effort produced many important findings that support the conclusion that the site of Calverton is present in the McDougall’s field. Kirsti’s talent, passion, knowledge, and skill continue to create a positive public image of Calvert County at the state and local level.
“Three hundred years of erosion by water and time”, remarked Kirsti. “But in May and June we got together at Calverton, preserving the history of Calvert County.”
At the Calvert Board of County Commissioners meeting on August 1st presented Kirsti with a certificate and a check, acknowledging her dedication and hard work and for her contributions to local archaeological discovery.
Congratulations, Kirsti, for a job well done!
