Deadline to Request an Absentee Ballot for the 2018 Gubernatorial General Election Nears
The deadline to request a 2018 Gubernatorial General Election absentee ballot for mail delivery is Tuesday, Oct. 30. The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the general election for internet delivery is Friday, Nov. 2. Any registered voter in Maryland may request and vote by absentee ballot.
Voters may request an absentee ballot in writing; or in person at the Calvert County Board of Elections. Voters with a Maryland driver’s license or MVA-issued ID card may request a ballot by applying online. To request an absentee ballot application from the Board of Elections, call 410-535-2214 or visit the office at 30 Duke St., lower level, in Prince Frederick from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Voters may also visit elections.maryland.gov/voting/absentee.html to request an absentee ballot online, to print an application or for more information.
If a voter wishes to receive an absentee ballot by mail, the Calvert County Board of Elections must receive a completed absentee ballot application via mail by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. If the request is submitted online or by email or fax, the Board of Elections must receive it by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.
If a voter wishes to receive an absentee ballot by internet delivery, the Board of Elections must receive a completed absentee ballot application via mail by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. If the request is submitted online or by email or fax it must be received by 11:59 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.
If a voter misses the applicable deadline, the absentee ballot request must be delivered in person at the Board of Elections office.
The 2018 Gubernatorial General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Starting Thursday, Oct. 25 through Thursday, Nov. 1, voters may vote in person between 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at the designated early voting center(s) in their county of residence.
