I am pleased to announce that the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) has invited me to speak to a high-level, high-profile national event on school safety.
“Given your tremendous leadership on school safety, you are uniquely qualified to contribute to this national policy discussion,” said Joan Wodiska, the Senior Federal Affairs Counsel at NCSL. Ms. Wodiska leads NCSL’s education policy work in Washington, DC, working closely with officials at the US Department of Education, Congress and White House.
It is gratifying to be recognized nationally for our success on School Safety, and I look forward to sharing our model with the rest of the country. Getting bi-partisan support in 5 days and a unanimous vote in 4 weeks on a School Safety package was my proudest moment in the Senate.
