The world famous Tiki Bar on Solomons Island is getting set to open on May 17th. According to Rich, one of the owners (the other one is Gary), they have been working hard to get everything in place for opening day. The two owners are involved in the popular Union Jacks of Annapolis. For the next three years, they are leasing the property and may purchase it later. They are presently finishing up the work and then waiting for the final inspections by the county.
The musicians have been hired for the opening. Fan favorite, Tracy Allen with Michael Burrell will open the day at 11 am-3pm, followed by The Chip Wood Band at 3 pm to 7 pm, and Come Back Iris will close at 7-10. Other bands scheduled are The 81 Run Band and No Green Jelly Beans on the 18th and Trilogy on the 19th. There is a great new stage for the bands. Got pictures of Jeff (Uncle Sy) working on finishing it. There will be a 100 ft tent over the stage for cover.
Rich told us “we are very excited about reopening the Tiki Bar Solomons. The community has been nothing but super supportive. Many have reached out offering all kinds of help to support out opening”.
Because of time constraints, the restaurant will not be open just yet so there will be food trucks available for those wishing to partake. The new owners will be working on the restaurant in the coming months. The restaurant will be run by Union Jacks.
As to the other shops, they haven’t decided just yet what will occupy the space.
